Social Tandem

This was a commissioned freak bike for one of the coolest couples I know in Portland. They love going on bike rides together but hate having to navigate traffic while carrying on their perpetual flirtation with each other. So they conceived this bike and I built it for them.

Made initially for them to take to Burning Man. The two bikes un-bolt from each other for easy packing and moving. It also includes a rack on the back and a beach-umbrella mount.

The rear rack is also the perfect height to set up a couple of turntables and plug them into a freak bike soundsystem. Marinate on that for a while… In the meantime it seems to do well carrying a cooler or a picnic basket just fine.
