FR808
The FR808 (pronounced “Freight-Oh-Eight”) was developed out of a distaste for carrying useless things on my bike and a love of driving while listening to music. Why waste the gas? This bike is so loud it sets off car alarms.
Built over three days in late June of 2010, this freak bike has a custom cable steering system, two 6×9 speakers, two 10″ subwoofers, two 300w amps, two 3.5″ tweeters, one huge deep cycle marine battery, and a whole lot of boom. So far the loudest soundsystem freak bike in Portland, Oregon, if not the whole Northwest.
I woke up at 3 in the morning, drew a picture, and immediately passed out. The next day I awoke to find a sketch of the bike to be, and dreamed up the steering system shortly thereafter. Why spend tons of money on an imported cargo bike when it’s so easy to build one locally? I did.
